If you have the tool saved it is as simple as pressing the "Load Tool/Cut" button. If it is in my HSMA library, it is most likely in one of the many places tools end up hiding in my shop. It also allows me to go back and search for a tool that I have used in the past. This makes it SUPER fast to toss a tool into a holder and get some quick feeds/speeds by just searching for the tool. I never delete a tool once it is defined. I use multiple databases (Flat End Mills, Radius End Mills, Jobber Drills, etc) to keep thing a little more organized in my head, however this is absolutely NOT necessary.you can have 1 giant library if you want.

Once this is done I click the save button. I only ever fill in the the "Comment" field as this is what the tool database uses to search for tools. This will bring the naming/inventory box up. I click the DOC and WOC labels to set them back to default then I press the "Add Tool" button. Press reset, select tool type and fill in all parameters as accurately as possible. If I need to create a new tool I do the following: And I thought it was so good, I asked his permission to post it on the HSMAdvisor website Help section: I've been using HMSA for about 3 years now (maybe more) and have running it down to a pretty quick science.

He posted on the support forums as an answer to another user's question. Here is the HSMAdvisor workflow step-though by our user Jake. However, the feedback is often thorough and helps propel HSMAdvisor development by miles ahead in a very short time frame. Sometimes it is useless like "speeds and feeds are wrong" or "my cutters are breaking" without explaining what they think is wrong.

This is very helpful for those who are continuing to hone their machining skills. As a software developer, I am always looking for quality feedback on my software and ideas.
#Mastercam x9 tutorials how to
Because the videos are made by industry-seasoned tried and true CNC machinists/programmers, they often contain advice regarding how to properly apply various Mastercam functions. Instructors are better able to manage students at different skill levels by assigning specific videos for those who are struggling with various functions. The use of Streamingteacher has eliminated the need for expensive textbooks that quickly become outdated. The students simply love it! They are able the watch up-to-date videos as often as necessary while practicing with the provided Mastercam files. Here at Clackamas Community College we have been using Streamingteacher for several years for all of our Mastercam courses. In both of which Streamingteacher has been my only real CNC programming teacher. To that end, I’ve followed a degree path of my own making that combines engineering prerequisites with two back-to-back associates degrees. The greatest educational barrier on the path to learn CAD/CAM so far has been the lack of advanced college courses dedicated to the subject. In pursuit of my mechanical design dream job, I’ve enrolled myself in various machining/manufacturing programs with various local community colleges. Great tool to learn the evolving software, really helps speed up the process of adapting and learning new tricks to streamline your programming process and skills!Īs a community college student, Streamingteacher has been a lifesaver. Beginner or advance users I believe could benefit from spending sometime watching some or all of these video's. Even if presentation is about something I never use there is always something that I learn and apply elsewhere. I really appreciate the live presentations they do. They really helped me to move around the, new to me, interface. The little tips and tricks that I find in most the video's are the most important part to me.

Leon Ladewig, Ultra-Flow, Cape Town, South Africa Keep up the good work! I would like to take this opportunity and thank you for courseware that is well presented and very professionally done. Streamingteacher allows me to train in the comfort of my home any time and allows me to go back and refer to sessions that I might have not understood the first time. Streamingteacher is the genuine thing! You cannot learn more from any on site training facility as you can obtain from Streamingteacher. Joe Huddleson, Central Oregon Community College, Bend, OR Great product, we've tried them all at Central Oregon Community College and this is by far the best we have used I would recommend this program to all who wish to learn Mastercam at their own pace. It saves me a lot of fat finger time and mistakes.

I use Mastercam for complex parts on ProtoTrac machines. I have books for Mastercam, but Streamingteacher is much better because you can hear, as well as see what is happening. I used Streamingteacher in the evenings at home to be prepared for things that I know are coming up at work in the next couple of days.
